At our second annual pool party we had almost 400 dogs at the pool. The animal shelter raised almost $3,000!

Thanks for coming out.

Howling at Hamilton

For five hours the aquatic center was packed with soggy dogs of all shapes and sizes leaping into the water after toys, climbing on the pool's play structures and chasing each other and their owners. More than 250 dogs and their owners came to the inaugural Howling at Hamilton. Profits from the event went to the Humane Society of the Palouse.

Humane Society board member Emily Spellman pitched the dog swim idea to Moscow Parks and Recreation Supervisor Eric Newell earlier this year after reading about similar events in a magazine. Newell quickly got on board and began advertising the dog swim for the final day of the aquatic center season. Humane Society President Scott Smith said the money raised at the event likely will go to the Moscow shelter’s everyday needs, such as cleaning supplies, food, treats and health care.  -Excerpts from Tara Roberts article, Moscow Pullman Daily News.

We plan to make this an annual event, so keep your eyes and ears open...
