- Attending
Kari,
Dan,
Scott, Tiff, Bryan, Emily
- Approval of Minutes from
10/06/09
- Improvement
Committee (i.e.
Park Shelter)
- Shelter
Plaque fundraiser
- We’ve raised $1,350 towards the weather shelter. We hope to get at least
$3,000
by December 1st. This will allow us to commit to the
Architecture
class as a building project for next semester. Emily will send out an
email to
help get some more donations. Kari is making the Donation Form into a
PDF.
- Fencing
- Half of the park
has been fenced off. The half acre area is too small for the 25-30 dogs
that we
have there in an evening. Scott will talk to the Parks Department about
only
fencing off the mud parts so that we don’t turn our small area into mud
also.
- Water
- The
water has been turned
off to the park. To get water we have to go into the shelter during
their business
hours. The key to their outside water is lost.
It might be a good idea to start bringing water in jugs to the
park with
you. Emily will make a sign for the park.
- New Gate
- Small
dogs are able to
escape out of the new gate to the parking lot due to openings on the
sides.
Scott will talk with the Park Department about this.
- Second Park Search
Committee
- We
do not have any
interested parties to be on this committee. We welcome the support that
the
parks commission is keeping the idea in mind that we would like a second
dog
park.
- Friends of the Dog Park Web
Site
- Tiff
will update the fund raising barometer and move things around a bit.
- Kari
will add the Donation
Form as a PDF.
- Emily
and Kari will add the
Halloween Parade pictures from this year.
- UI
Homecoming Parade Update
- We
had about 20 dogs in our
parade. We handed out dog treats and our dog park cards.
- Officer
Elections (Chair,
Co-Chair, and Secretary)
- We
discussed new positions.
We will elect at the December meeting.
- Open Discussion regarding FODP member
recruitment/retention
- Although
we don’t always
have a lot of people who are able to make all our meetings, Emily
receives many
emails regarding dog park issues and is able to present them at the
meetings.
