Meeting Minutes

•  Improvement Committee (i.e. Park Shelter)

• Shelter Plaque fundraiser – We reached our goal! We have raised $3,000 dollars towards the weather shelter at the Dog Park. This will allow us to commit to the building project if it is passed by the city council. We will continue selling plaques and raising money to go towards the building project.

• Tiffanie, Scott, Dan, Kari and Emily will meet with the Parks and Rec Commissioners on December 3^rd. We will tell them about our fundraising efforts and ask if they can bring our request to move along with the weather shelter to the City Council.

• Scott will begin talking with Mr. Barnstone about taking on this project with his class next semester.

• We discussed that with a new entrance at the Dog Park, we should get a third garbage can at the park. Emily will talk to Roger about this.

• We also discussed the need for another pooh scooper. Tiffanie will get one for the park this weekend.

• The Dog Park is still very muddy. The park is so well used that maybe we need to look at alternative materials for ground cover. At least in the vicinity of the entrances.

• Second Park Search Committee

• We do not have anyone on this committee, but we all agree that a second dog park will help disperse the people between the parks and will help alleviate the overuse of the current Dog Park.

• Friends of the Dog Park Web Site

• Some of the links on the pages become broken. This may be due to the fact that the site is switching over to an updated version. Or maybe from making changes with Internet Explorer. Kari says that using Firefox seems to work better when making changes to the pages. 

• We may want to look into another host for our Web address.
